Yellow Mung

Yellow mung is a particularly easy to digest lentil in comparison to other lentils. It is both nourishing and cleansing making it a great dish for re-establishing one’s health.

1.5 cups yellow mung

1/2 tsp Mustard seeds

1/2 tsp cumin seeds

Ghee

Soak the yellow mung for at least 5 hours. After this, drain the water and set aside. In a pot, heat 3 cups of water, then add the mung to cook on low to medium heat. It should take 20-30 minutes to cook. In a separate saucepan, heat some ghee then add mustard seeds and cumin seeds until they begin to pop. Don’t burn them! Pour this into the mung soup. Stir and some salt.
